Farewell to My Beloved Co-Worker

With much regret and sadness I announce that Hellen J. Kuleskey, the editor and founder of the YOUTH Paper Ministry, is retiring. It is extremely difficult for me to even say that Hellen is leaving this ministry to move back to Canada near to her family’s homestead.

For over 23 years she has been my boss, my co-worker, prayer partner and encourager. I have had the privilege to watch her each quarter as she waited faithfully on the Lord for His guidance as to which testimony, which teaching and Bible lesson she should feature. As she went through weakness, illness, and lack of resources, I witnessed her faithful dependence on Him, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have experienced the blessing of her positive words of support, guidance and encouragment to me.

Her own personal testimony entitled “God Uses Obedient Nobodies” featured in Issue #93, 4th Quarter 1986, has impacted many lives, mine included. Her story reminds us that our lives are not about us, but about Him, our glorious King.

As this issue is her last (she may write an article or more as the Lord grants her healing and strength), Hellen desires to share some final thoughts with you. Would you pray for her, her health and this very new and unexpected direction in her life? And would you pray for the YOUTH Paper Ministry as we are truly at the feet of Jesus seeking His direction and purpose?

— Eloise Patton

Editor’s Note:

Dear Readers,

A recent physical health crisis has indicated that my retirement is long overdue. Therefore, this issue of the YOUTH paper is the final one that I will edit.

My able assistant, Eloise Patton, is taking over as editor in my place. Many of you are familiar with her name as she has been replying to your letters and answering your questions.

The Lord called Eloise and brought her to the ministry at a crucial time. Computers were coming in and our addressing equipment was obsolete. Nearly 10,000 names were on our mailing list at that time. Only she could tell you how she accomplished the task or how she handles the printer/duplicator and letter folder. It seems that machines remain a puzzle to me. I thank the Lord He sent someone who is an expert in these areas. I thank Eloise for her help and for her patience and kindness at all times. She has been a faithful friend to me personally and in the ministry.

I trust in the future to contribute devotional articles as the Lord gives them. It has been a joy to have served so many readers through the years. (We are beginning our 49th year!)

God bless you as you continue to follow our Lord Jesus Christ.

In His great love,
Hellen J. Kuleskey
